Health Minister Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek said the areas had been prone to flood recently and Bakri MP Datuk Chua Jui Meng had requested for the drainage system to be improved. Dr Chua, who is also the Johor MCA chief, said the party was concerned over the recent flashfloods, which hit several areas in Sungai Abong and Jalan Bakri and caused problems to the residents. He said the areas were Taman Orkid, Jalan Ismail, Jalan Bakariah, Jalan Bakri, Jalan Hashim and Jalan Kim Kee and urged residents to be patient, as the project would take several months to be completed. He said besides drainage, a bridge crossing over Sungai Bentayan near Jalan Bakri too would be improved and widened. read me
