New Drainage System To Help Prevent Shockoe Flooding - WRIC- Topic: DrainageNews

Nine areas in Richmond will soon be safer after the city makes plans for intersection improvements. Over the next four weeks, Richmond's Shockoe Bottom will be under construction to prevent flooding like that seen during Tropical Storm Gaston. The city will be tearing up sidewalks to install new drainage systems city official say will help prevent future flooding.
