What is included in MSMAware?

MSMAware includes six modules:

1. Design Storm,
2. Rational Method,
3. Time-Area Method
4. On-Site Detention,
5. Detention Basin* and
6. Culvert Design*.

 

Design Storm Data Included in MSMAware:

MSMAware can compute and plot the IDF curves for any locations in Malaysia based on 3 different design storm data:

1. MSMA (2011)- the second edition of MSMA,
2. HP 1 (DID, 2021)- for Peninsular Malaysia and
3. HP 26 (DID, 2018)- for East Malaysia.

 

Main Features of the Design Storm Module:

About 500 rainfall stations run by JPS and MMS are plotted on a Google Map which is accessible inside the Storm Module. The Module considers the following parameters or factors:

1. Temporal Patterns,
2. ARF (Areal Reduction Factor),
3. CCF (Climate Change Factor) and
4. 10 and 20 km grids in HP1 and HP26.

 

How to Use MSMAware?

You can click any station on the Google Map to compute the following:

• The Storm Intensity-Frequency-Duration curves for any station and generate a report.
• You can compute peak discharges using the Rational Method.
• You can compute the discharge hydrograph using the Time-Area Method.
• You can compute the storages including On-Site Detention (OSD) and Detention Basin Modules.
